This is the role
As our Global Measurement Engineer, you will act as support to our global testing departments within AB Volvo. We can offer you an interesting and exciting experience, where you will be involved in the development of tools and equipment to be able to meet new demands in both rigs and complete vehicle testing. You will be working closely within a team of experts to make sure that we have the right equipment, tools and ways of working to support testing.
As a Global Measurement Engineer you will play an important part in our overall strategy and investment program. We are working closely with our suppliers in projects to update our equipment and coordinate systems and tools for best usage with teams on other sites globally. We are also involved in different kinds of investigations and test-to-learn activities, as well as education and development of new methods within the measurement area.
Main tasks:
• Understand existing and future requirements on test equipment and needed methods
• Technical descriptions, specifications and act as advisor for the investment projects related to component and vehicle testing
• In co-operation/communication with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions and be part of the realization and commissioning of new equipment
• Sharing your knowledge with colleagues and organization through different networks
• Perform pre-studies and benchmarking and choose the best solutions in accordance to quality, accuracy, reliability, maintainability and legal demands by working in close cooperation with equipment suppliers and networking
• Generate ideas and pre-studies to improve efficiency, reliability or quality demands

Requirements:
• University Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in both English and Swedish, spoken and written
• Experience in the area of measurement equipment in connection to automotive testing
• Able to provide technical specifications in the field of measurement equipment and sensors for testing systems
• Experience from investment projects and specification work for purchasing of new equipment
• Excellent communications and networking skills
• Truck driving license is a merit
