In this position you will lead a global team of purchasing professionals to establish, anchor and implement solid sourcing strategies bringing significant benefits to our business partners and customers.
You are part of the Global Commodity Powertrain & Electro-mobility Leadership Team.
You will have a great exposure to our diverse teams, our business, our machines, and our other Volvo group colleagues involved in the Engine and After Treatment Systems (EATS).
You focus on managing a global team and supplier base to deliver high level performances and superior long term relationships. Our asset is our people and our business partners including our suppliers! You have a great role to play in making sure the teams, the colleagues and our supplier base is at the top.
This position offers you a true global business exposure to an international supplier base, to our global engineering teams in a highly diversified and technical environment.
Responsibilities:
• Management of the Global Engine, Cooling systems and After-Treatment teams (EAS) supplier base and sourcing strategies
• Represents the Global Commodity Powertrain & Electro-mobility Purchasing department in the Global cross functional meeting for Engines and After Treatment Systems (Global Technology Council for Engine and After Treatment Systems)
• Support with her/his team the launch of all new Engine and After Treatment Systems for our new machine generations
• Manage the sub-commodities to deliver optimum global technical solutions along with matching products, plants and project expectations
• Lead the teams to come-up with innovative solutions to reduce our material cost and increase performances in quality/delivery/output for our machines

Our EATS strategies have a direct impact on our machine performances. The leader in charge and her/his team will have to manage and align cross functional teams to make sure our customers requirements and our supplier base offering are well reflected into the EATS sourcing strategies. A key success factor will be consequently strong leadership skills as understanding stakeholder requirements, building and motivating effective teams, managing diversity, managing complexity, organizational agility, persistence, collaborating and communicating.
A solid and diversified purchasing experience is required, with preferences in the construction industry, automotive industry or in general in the mechanical industries.
Finally another key success factor for this role is to have solid Engine and Auxiliaries purchasing, engineering or project experience.
