Job description:
In this role you will be responsible for the management of a team and responsible for the complete export of ocean and air shipments for a dedicated customer. Together with the team you will make sure that all shipments are being handled smoothly taking the needs of your key customer into account. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your employees and also act as their people manager. Also you will be the first point of escalation when necessary. Part of the role will include more senior management tasks like budgeting and planning of the entire branch. A pro-active approach to take initiative in improving processes within the department is an additional benefit the ideal candidate will possess. Your accountabilities will include: Customer and account management People management End-to-end management of shipments Responsible for custom clearances Billing and debt collections Freight Shipment Planning
Qualifications:
You have a minimum of 5 - 7 years working experience as Supervisor in freight forwarding You have solid experience as a people manager You know how to motivate and build a team You have a proven track record in managing end-to-end processes within the freight forwarding industry You have a strong background in working with customers of all sorts and sizes You are a strong relationship builder You have excellent commercial awareness and know how to sell You know how to manage third parties and have strong persuasive skills You have excellent knowledge of the English language both verbally and written. Additional European languages are an asset You know how to deal with customs procedures and formalities You know how to troubleshoot, can come up with quick and creative solutions and solve problems in a pressurized environment You put your customer first, but will never lose sight of the business impact of your actions You will challenge the status quo and will always looks for ways to improve and move forward You do not have a 9 to 5 mentality and have an eagerness to excel in a multi-national environment
