The Global Director of Strategic Programs is responsible to deliver the agreed long term non-product Technology Initiative Plan created by the CVPnS Strategic Planning function.

Responsible for the setup and delivery of the resulting project portfolio, from start to end. Examples of these can be process development projects, design tools projects, management tools projects, PPD efficiency projects, Volvo Group driven IS/IT projects and any other non-product project of significant size.

Responsible for identifying clear business requirements that are the basis for the design of the solution. Leads the deployment and secures that the proper setup is in place to facilitate qualitative and cost effective maintenance and support to delivered solutions.

Provides expertise, input and supports the Volvo CE PLM Strategy.

Responsible for all non-product Technology projects defined by:

Volvo CE (A, B, C classification)
Volvo IS-GDP classification scheme (A-E)
Any Technology non-product project that requires a steering committee.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:

The primary task of the Global Director Strategic Programs is to lead the organization by planning, managing and delivering the business goals for the entire project portfolio. Execute, plan, prioritize and balance the resources are key tasks for the Global Director Strategic Programs
Setup and delivery of global strategic non-product Technology function project programs/projects within assigned budgets
Coordinate and secure the PPD efficiency project portfolio
Identify clear business requirements and secure alignment with the business representatives
Contribute to the delivery of the IS/IT PLM strategy
Steer Volvo IT and other vendors to secure timely delivery of programs under their responsibility
Report (or delegate) to the business steering committees on the progress and the status of the programs under his/her responsibility
Manage the necessary initiatives/projects to ensure on-time/on-budget delivery regarding the plans, timing, funding, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, balancing the available departmental resources to various phases of project. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks with internal Volvo CE, Volvo IT and 3rd parties
Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

Master?s Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
10+ years? experience in Project Management
10+ years? experience in Product Development CAD/CAE/PDM systems is desired
5+ years? experience in IS/IT systems development is desired
Experience in change management processes
Experience in project risk management

Capacity to provide holistic direction to projects, and then delegate
