Volvo Group Telematics is hosted by Volvo IT and is a newly formed global organization within the Volvo Group providing telematics off-board services. Volvo Group Telematics enables & accelerate customer-oriented off-board telematics service development & delivery.
Volvo Group Telematics supports the Volvo Group and external customers in the Automotive Car OEM segment, such as BMW and Volvo Cars through the WirelessCar brand.
Global Development First Line Manager
Volvo Group Telematics is looking for a customer oriented software development manager to lead one of the development teams in Gothenburg. As development manager you will be part of the Development Management Team and report to the Director Global Development. You will have an overall responsibility for all development activities related to your group and HR responsibility for 15-20 people working in different customer teams.
Main responsibilities:
• Manage team of software architects, software developers, business analysts and testers
• Global Development lead for certain customer and participate in customer teams
• Finance (accountable for budgets and production results)
• Accountable for KPI?s and other performance targets
• HR (recruitments, salary setting, competence development, Personal Business Plans)
• Member of Development Management Team and Steering Committees for key projects
• Take responsibility to implement decision taken in the Development Management Team
• Support development of processes, other working methods and competence building
• Support our projects in various roles
General profile:
The development manager needs to have the ability to work under demanding and changing conditions. A successful applicant must also be able to work in a matrix organization with global functional responsibilities and customer team responsibilities where it is essential to actively cooperate in a way that bridges gaps that are inevitable in every matrix organization.
This position requires:
• A university degree (engineering and/or economics)
• Documented leadership competence and previous experience as line manager
• Experience from software engineering and agile development
• Experience from telematics together with projects and needed competence
• Significant experience from advanced recruitments and people management
• A global and agile mindset with strong customer focus
• Ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams
• Strong interest in process improvements
• Have capacity to execute against set targets and a ?can do? attitude
• Ability to establish and maintain good relations with your internal and external partners
• Customer business knowledge - build, develop, and grow any business relationships
• Good planning skills
• Fluent in English and Swedish - both written and spoken
