hela Sverige We are looking for a Global Design Strategy Manager with 6 to 10 years' experience to be positioned in the Design Studio in Gothenburg. Design Management focuses on a collaborative and iterative style of work and an abductive mode of inference, compared to practices associated with the more traditional management paradigm. Our ambition is to further our integration of design thinking into strategic management as a cross-disciplinary and human-centered approach to management.
The person we are looking for will have an open mindset, is a team player, and is able to combine creativity with empathy and understanding for the end user to come up with innovative and practical design visions and strategies together with the Brand Design Directors. Furthermore, the ability to take the broader perspective and see our products in the context in which they are used and understand how they contribute to the development of society is desirable.
The successful candidate will be/have:
• a MFA degree in Industrial design
• 6 - 10 years' relevant work experience, where of 5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience of Automotive Industry
• proven leadership abilities
• Ability to interpret and communicate business and design related requirements into strategies
• Ability to craft, structure, and execute professional level design workshops for designers and non-designers
• Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.

The Global Design Manager tasks and responsibilities include:
• Responsible for formulation, setting and follow-up of major goals and design related strategies as well as translation and assessment of the internal requirements and external environment in which our company competes.
• Together with the appropriate brand and business responsible Secure a Brand Experience Strategy for each brand within the Volvo Group Portfolio, including BAs and JVs.
xThe Brand Design strategies are the tools for each Design Director to have control of the Brand User Experience.
xSecure that the Brand Experience Strategies are integrated with Product and Aftermarket strategies
• Participate in the governance structure for process and guidelines related to Brand User Experience (hard products, digital and service design) touch points.
• From a Product Design perspective develop and secure Emblem Strategies, Design Philosophies and Digital Design Language Strategies as well as developing and executing design specific aspects of Merchandise Strategies, Multi-dealer signage strategies, and other relevant graphic strategies, for all Volvo Group Brands.
• Secure the Visual Brand Distinction strategy towards Volvo Group Brand Management in relation to Brand Positioning segmentation model
• Act as first-point-of-contact regarding Brand Positioning/Brand Portfolio questions within Product Design
• Secure the emotional aspect of positioning to safe guard each brands emotional potential and customer user experience perspective.
• Act as multi-brand feature owner for Product Message and develop the structure to express and communicate the holistic view of all other features
