Who are we?
The Global Business Intelligence & Analytics team is responsible for setting and leading the delivery of the Business Intelligence & Analytics roadmap as well as providing expert analytical insights and advice to the business across all functions in Volvo Construction Equipment.
You have the opportunity to play a key role in not only our team, but across the wider organization. You will be supporting the business and leading the development of advanced analytics, helping Volvo Construction Equipment derive value from a wide variety of information we have at our fingertips today.
Main Activities And Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist, you are an expert problem solver who works with advanced analytics in our most challenging areas. You like complexity. You drive all phases of problem solving, from business understanding, data understanding, data structuring, data modeling, and giving recommendations to the business.

Who are you?
You are a recognized expert who is passionate about data driven problem solving but also someone who enjoys being part of transforming and further developing current ways of working. You have a positive drive with a demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate cross functional projects, keeping a business mind and customer orientation.
As a Data Scientist you have an open mindset, seeing opportunities in new ways of analyzing and visualizing data, and you have the ability to adapt your communication to stakeholder needs.
You have broad experience in modern machine learning techniques and are able to build models independently in several different environments.
Required Experience And Education
Master of Science or equivalent in Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science.
Minimum 3 years experience in data science related work. Automotive experience is a merit
Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
