We are looking for design engineers with global component development responsibility for exhaust brake and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).
1 global component responsible engineer for EGR pipes
The positions are organized under Volvo Powertrain, Combustion systems, Air & Gas management Systems. The group is responsible for product development, product maintenance and advanced engineering. The work is carried out in close cooperation with colleagues in Gothenburg, Lyon, Hagerstown, Curitiba and Ageo and together with purchasing and suppliers.
Core Responsibilities:
Design and develop components with respect of commonality for engine platforms and to reach required features.
The work consists of design and development work in ProE and product documentation including document releases in PDM systems (PDMlink). The work is performed in cross functional teams and includes AE, project and maintenance work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of science in engineering or similar
Minimum 3 years experience of design work in CAD (experience of designing in ProE is an advantage) and product documentation in PDM systems (PDMlink is an advantage)
Good understanding of component features, i.e. cost, performance, manufacturing and assembly, aftermarket and serviceability
Good knowledge of drawing standards, incl. reference systems, geometry and position tolerances
Knowledge about how to design in materials for high temperature use is an advantage
Experience of packaging work including installation of pipes and hoses
Fluent in English, both oral and written is mandatory, since the work is performed in global teams
Creative personality with ability to generate ideas, propose solutions and to solve problems
Positive mindset and ability to work in a dynamic organization
Good communication and net working skills in global cross functional teams
Organized way of working
Ability to keep good contacts with purchasers and suppliers are required
Design experience of designing components in plastic for engine use is an advantage
