Base Engine department in Gothenburg has a proud history and we challenge ourselves to continue to develop world class engines that will be part of tomorrow's heavy-duty truck, bus, excavator and boat. We always challenge status quo with new features and new products, that help our customer meet their goals. To achieve this we need engineers like you, who dare to think new, be creative and challenge us.
Our team is called Engine structure and our responsibility is the non-moving components of Volvo's heavy-duty engines, such as cylinder block, cylinder head, flywheel housing, covers, inlet and exhaust manifold. All team members are working as Global Component Responsible and are using their global network within Volvo to secure that their deliveries meet all requirements. Personally, I'm extremely proud to be part of this team, how we work and deliver as a team and I'm sure that we will continue to play an important role many years ahead.
Profile and qualifications
In order to be successful as an engineer in our team we believe that you have general technical interest and are curious how components and systems are connected and like to work together with your colleagues to deliver next generations of premium technical solutions. We expect you to be contributor and willing to change, develop and evolve.
B.Sc. degree or higher in mechanical engineering or similar
Experience in Creo
5 years' experience of designing casted component in metal or plastic
Used to work cross functionally with, other stakeholders as a component responsible
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Your role will be responsible for new technical deliveries and maintenance of your components. You will drive activities and develop and harmonized technical component solutions according to the system road map as well as being active and proactive to have input to a road map. You will work closely with purchasing, operations, and quality as well as with suppliers.
