Join our team at Driveline to develop transmission solutions for future heavy-duty commercial vehicles within the Volvo Group. Together with other engineers in Gothenburg and around the world, you and your colleagues will create innovative driveline systems that improve both the driving experience and productivity for our customers.

The Driveline department in Gothenburg is responsible for the development of transmission systems for trucks and buses within the Volvo Group. The group Shift Control and Auxiliaries is responsible for clutches, gear shifting systems (i.e. gearshift units, shift levers, forks etc.), retarders and PTO's to all in-house transmissions, including both manual SMT and automatic AMT gearboxes.

Purpose and Contents of the Role
As GCR, you play a key role in the development of the components in your scope and will work in close cooperation with system engineers, test engineers and simulation engineers. For your components, you will be responsible for:
• Contribute to the development of new solutions and technologies
• Find the best compromise between all requirements like performance, cost, packaging and weight.
• Participate and support in product maintenance activities
• Plan and perform release of technical documentation

Travel
The position will include occasional travelling within our global organization and to external suppliers.

Qualifications
• M.Sc. degree
• Good knowledge in the field of mechanical and automotive engineering, such as mechanics, machine elements etc.
• Team and cross functional work abilities
• Good cooperation and communication skills
• Ability to negotiate and decide
• Analytical mind set
• The candidate needs to be fluent in English, preferably also in Swedish.
