Shortly about us
This is a unique opportunity to join our Legal and Compliance function at SMR, a central part in our business strategy. We cover the comprehensive range of Sandvik compliance programs which consists of Trade Compliance, Data Privacy, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Competition and our Speak Up program. You support us with both strategic initiatives and hands-on activities, ensuring the development of a solid compliance culture and robust processes throughout our organization.
Your mission
In this key position, your focus lies on sanctions compliance. You work to promote and drive compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures supporting a culture of integrity and raising awareness of compliance-related matters throughout our organization. You identify compliance risks, advise on compliance activities and set priorities for the activities. By working both independently and closely with the business, you seek to understand how EU and international sanction regulations apply to different operations and set effective controls. Training and educating the business in compliance is also part of your job.
Also included in your mission:
Drive our global Trade Compliance program in SMR.
Be the contact and advisor within SMR for the business, compliance officers and trade compliance network, both at group, business area and division level.
Establish policies, procedures and operational processes and templates to meet Trade Compliance requirements.
Monitor and ensure compliance with international trade regulations, particularly sanctions imposed by various jurisdictions.
Provide guidance and review due diligence on transactions and business partners to identify and mitigate potential trade compliance risks.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on trade compliance and sanctions-related matters.
Prepare and submit required compliance reports and documentation.
Investigate and resolve any compliance issues or breaches, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

You report directly to the SMR Director of Compliance. The location for this position is flexible within Europe, with Stockholm and England as preferred locations. We apply a hybrid work-setup, allowing you to combine office work with remote work.
Your profile
We're looking for someone with solid experience of working with trade compliance, preferably in a global international organization. Your knowledge is backed by a degree in International Trade, Law, Business or another related field. You have several years' experience in trade compliance, with a strong focus on sanctions, as well as in-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and sanction programs. Previous experience with Trade Automation Express, SAP GTS and screening tools applicable to this area is advantageous. As a global organization you need proficient skills in English, verbally and in writing.
With excellent communication skills, you manage stakeholders effectively and build trust to develop global networks and collaborations. You have an energetic, persistent and process-oriented approach combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills - you're able to look at our business from a broader perspective and enjoy turning complex matters into understandable, practical and effective solutions. With your organized and self-driven features, you know how to prioritize and influence others.
