Which technology that will be the volume product for the future is also dependent of how quickly the availability of green energy and infra-structure evolves in different parts of the world.
On this transformation journey, with time to market pressure of new technologies there is a need to strengthen the innovation mindset, alignment, collaboration, and transparency with focus on flow and business value. We need to increase the speed in execution and deliveries as well as to improve our capacity utilization to reach the right output.
What:
Vehicle Engineering is responsible to secure the integration of various components, technologies and systems to optimize a complete truck that meets our customers needs on performance, functionality and user experience.
With many different technologies we need to optimize the development of platform and system solutions cross technologies, applications and regions. As some of the new technologies will evolve quickly, we need to find ways to develop interfaces that can allow updates with minimum effort. In line with our high ambition, we will need to evolve our way of working and leverage future innovation to a higher degree with speed.
How:
World class trucks in the zero-emission era will require a new set of interfaces to cater to all the new technologies that is required. To reap the benefits of this and to continue to hone our product offer this needs to be done with a global platform in mind. As Vice President Global Complete Truck Architect, you will be the centre of gravity, identifying the necessary performance steps to ensure that our current and future customers stay leading in their industry by choosing a Volvo Group product. We expect the role to create and lead the implementation of the strategy how to create synergies, utilize data and expertise across the organization to develop world class complete truck applications.
Therefor we are looking for a Vice President Global Complete Truck Architect. The role will be a part of the global Vehicle Engineering management team and report to the head of Vehicle Engineering. The initial intention is that the VP will work together with functional leaders to set the required structure for the future.
Qualifications:
As our preferred candidate you are a graduate engineer with extensive experience of architectural platform development within the automotive industry.
You should have good knowledge of truck applications and what is important to achieve efficient transport solutions today and tomorrow.
You have a proven track record of leading transformation and change in relevant area
You need to be an inspiring leader, have a positive mind-set, and are interested in developing people and effective teams, as well as technology.
You are expected to have business mindset, show managerial courage and be able to meet people where they are, with ability to inspire and involve people to create engagement and a common view.
You need to be good in handling ambiguity, show courage and integrity and can build trust in the organization.
You are also expected to have several years of manager experience on a Leading Leader level. You should possess solid English skills.
