As Global Commodity Manager for RCS (m/f) in the Strategic Sourcing team you will contribute to defining and executing the strategy of Rail Control Solutions (RCS) global business within BT. The Strategic Sourcing team defines the RCS supply chain strategy, including responsibility for Global partner management of all partner and panel suppliers and sub-contractors. The team drives supplier collaboration in new product development, bids and project execution.
YOUR TASKS
• Develop commodity strategy based on sales potential and execute plan to enable competitive supply chain
• Ensure Product Strategy alignment with Product Managers (Engineering) and foster early collaboration and innovation with RCS suppliers
• Give support to Regional operational procurement related to day to day supply chain management of the commodity
• Lead in managing supplier relationships and driving for optimal supplier performance
• Evaluate supplier proposals for bids and new product development, assess proposals and make and present recommendations to organization
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions and write contracts
• Ensure BT is protected from volatility and risk in the supply market
• Ensure the continued competitiveness of the supply base through targeted initiatives based on business needs, such as managing global Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and Transfers of Technology (ToT)
• Deliver often difficult initiatives through cross-functional collaboration and diligent planning
• Undertake spend analyses, category management and other procurement activities by applying best-practice processes, tools, and techniques, in accordance with procurement governance, processes, standards, and procedures
• Present commodity strategy and supplier updates to Senior Management on regular intervals, including to the Head of Procurement, Operations, Engineering and President of RCS
QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and able to work closely with others to influence decisions
• Analytical and critical thinking skills. Able to quickly understand a high amount of data to derive messages to present alternatives and recommendation
• Impact on RCS? cost savings targets in bid and project phase to enable growth through competitiveness and strong profitability
• Strong synthesis and presentation skills for internal and external audiences. Clarity of communication is very important
• Strong commercial/ negotiation skills and engineering mindset
• Strong people and interpersonal/communications skills
• International exposure
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a Procurement function, including negotiating with suppliers, writing and interpreting contracts and agreements
• Advanced level of English is mandatory
