Main Tasks
• Lead the purchasing objectives for the Volvo CE P&SM Global Commodity Electronics
• Define the sourcing strategy short to long term and manage the supplier base globally.
Core Responsibilities
• Define the sourcing strategy together with the commodity team for Electronics sub commodity (ECUs ? Cameras ? embedded systems ? software?)
• Implement sourcing strategy with support of the Buyers
• Source and Develop new suppliers Globally
• Manage supply base (identification, evaluation, approval and development of strategic supplier)
• Be a source of innovative technical solutions for New Developments (PPD)
• Support development of on board systems (make or buy) and software
• Drive QDC targets at sub commodity level and track implementation (TCO, Quality, Timing) with support of plant buyer, project buyer & SD
• Promote Value Analysis / value engineering activities with suppliers.
• Negotiate framework agreements (FWA), QDC contracts.
• Support Project Buyer on project agreements (LOI and development contract)
• Supports sites according to escalation processes.
• Support After Market to recover warranty cost from suppliers.
• Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviours
Required knowledge and experience
• Ideally have Technical Education and/or proven experience within Electronics
• At least 5 years experience of Purchasing Electronic components or systems
• Strong Leadership and ability to drive multinational teams
• Has a deep understanding of sourcing strategy process
• Has a clear understanding and vision of current supply base evolution and supplier market trends
• Has proven capabilities in negotiation and communication..
• Creative attitude and energetic. Achievement driven
• Team Player
• Fluent in English
