Who are we?
Hydraulic Controls is one of two Hydraulic teams in the Sourcing Global Commodities (SGC) organization within the Purchasing function of Volvo CE. We are responsible for managing segments, or commodities, that are used on all Volvo CE machines and served by truly global suppliers. In Controls we manage segments like Hydraulic Pumps and Motors, Valves, Accumulators, Steering Units and Turning Joints.
As the whole SGC team, the Controls team is a multinational, dynamic, highly motivated and engaged group of people that are acting cross functionally around the world to support Volvo CE's business. We manage products and systems that will play a vital role in the electrification journey of the construction industry. To do this, we engage in close collaboration with colleagues from all functions in the company, as well as in close partnerships with suppliers.
Position description, job summary
In this role, you will be responsible to develop and lead the implementation of sourcing strategies for a selected number of hydraulic segments, sub-commodities. These sourcing strategies will take the hydraulic segments through the transformation towards electrification and connectivity, where efficient hydraulic systems will be essential for VCE's future machines and services.
You will be a key person to assure world leading, sustainable and innovative sourcing strategies and supplier base. By collaboration and dialogue with key internal stakeholders in Technology, Advanced engineering, Purchasing and other functions, you create the foundation for our purchasing mantra - Right Supplier, Right Relationship and Right Frist Time. It comes natural to you, to integrate our suppliers in this work, as they are a strong resource as well.
The role will be a global one, but you will have a certain focus on Europe.
As Commodity buyer you are seen as the business owner of your segment. You take the lead to assure continuous improvement of the Quality, Delivery and Cost of suppliers in your segment.
In total, this means you will have an exciting role with one foot in today's business and one foot in tomorrow's business.
