In November 2016, the Global Challenges Foundation announced the creation of a USD 5 million prize, the New Shape Prize, to seek improved models of international cooperation capable of tackling the most pressing threats to humanity, including climate change, emerging challenges, serious conflicts (such as nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction) and extreme poverty. The Prize aims to stimulate visionary thinking from the brightest minds in academia, politics, business and civil society to forge transformative approaches and secure a better future for all. The competition culminated on September 2017, with 2,702 entries from 122 countries, an exciting reflection of the global engagement that was the GCF's goal.

At the New Shape Forum, to be held in Stockholm on May 28-29 2018, the finalists from the prize competition will present their ideas for leading thinkers and actors to critically examine; the winners of the New Shape Prize will also be announced. The New Shape Forum is the starting point for a sustained refinement and engagement of the best ideas from the New Shape Prize. We anticipate that the New Shape Forum will be the first of several GCF platforms at which risks and transformative ideas in their management and governance will be brought to the fore.

In order for the GCF to succeed with our targets we need to work in partnerships with a wide set of stakeholders in the areas of global catastrophic risks and global governance. Hence it is crucial that we are able to identify and establishes good relationships with the most relevant individuals and institution in this regard.

As Partnership Lead you will be responsible to:

• Ensure contextual and stakeholder analysis
• Actively promote and represent GCF in key markets
• Provide strategic advice on partnerships
• Coordinate the GCF's relationships with leading thought leaders and decision makers.

Competences:

• An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field, is required
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong ability to handle external relations in a diplomatic and representative manner.
• Great communicative skills in English. Knowledge of other languages is desirable.
• Proven experience to structure and deliver tasks independently.
• Experience of handling media.

The Global Challenges Foundation (GCF) aims to incite deeper understanding of the most pressing global risks to humanity - and to catalyze new ways of tackling them. Founded in 2012 by the Swedish financial analyst and author Laszlo Szombatfalvy, GCF is based on the belief that global challenges require global solutions, and that new forms of international cooperation are urgently needed in order to secure acceptable living conditions for future generations.
