As a Global Category Manager (Hard Metals), you will be at the forefront of this transformation, playing a crucial role in shaping our supplier base and ensuring we have reliable, capable partners for further development.

Your Mission
In this role, you will develop and execute a Global Sourcing Strategy for Hard Materials, including Tungsten, Cobalt, Cemented Carbide, and PCD, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices in sourcing. You'll stay ahead of economic and market trends, advising the business on the best sourcing strategies for your assigned categories. From supplier selection and negotiations to contracting and relationship management, you will ensure that our global suppliers meet our high standards. Collaborating closely with Global R&D, marketing, sales, and local teams, you will implement category and operations strategies, coach local strategic purchasers, and serve as an advisor for this category.

Ensuring key metrics for the procurement function are met, you'll maintain expertise in sustainable sourcing practices and understanding of conflict minerals to comply with regulatory requirements. Driving negotiations and contract management processes will secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers while adhering to trade compliance regulations. Your work will include monitoring market trends, conducting supplier evaluations, and managing supplier relationships to ensure adherence to agreed service levels and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Profile
To excel, you should have a Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including 5 years in strategic sourcing or category management within the manufacturing or mining industry, with a focus on HARD and raw materials. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels are essential. You should have knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices, an understanding of conflict minerals regulations, and experience with trade compliance and regulatory requirements. An analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, cost management, and experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in Swedish and Chinese being a plus.

Location and travel
The location for this role is Fagersta, Sweden. If a candidate from a different country applies and is successful, local Swedish terms and conditions will apply. Regular global travel will be required (up to 40%).
