hela Sverige Cab Technology is a department within Vehicle Engineering responsible for developing key systems e.g Cab body, climate, seat structure to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. Cab Technology is leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering for Cab engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg, Greensboro, Lyon and Bangalore
Cab Technology develops strategies and knowledge (advanced engineering) to offer the most competitive cabs. We also understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture and brand uniqueness.
We are now looking for a Global Cab Platform Manager responsible for managing common architecture and shared technology (CAST) within the Cab area (Technology & Vehicle) and towards other organizations within GTT and the Volvo Group. The work is mainly focused on early project phases, from Pre-Study to Detailed Development, covering all truck brands within the Volvo Group.
As Global Cab Platform Manager, you will manage a small team and lead the Global Cab Platform Network with representation from all development sites. You will be responsible to secure a consolidated Cab platform view through networking between Technology and the cab departments and Vehicle organizations on the local GTT sites. You will be an important member in the Cab Technology Management Team and report to the Vice President Cab Technology.
Main responsibilities:
Lead the development of strategies for Common Architecture in the Cab area
Plan and anchor strategies for Shared Technology (via Product System Roadmaps)
Lead and steer the CAST governance for Cab Engineering
Secure platform development within strategic pre studies and Advanced Engineering globally
Represent Cab in strategic issues and forums related to platform development
Contribute in harmonization and development of processes, methods, tools and standards globally
Organizes the Technical area meeting for Cab

Qualifications
As our preferred candidate you have a MSc in Engineering with extensive experience of x-functional product development within the automotive industry. You should have extensive technology knowledge within Cab systems and good ability to handle complex balancing of contradictory engineering and customer requirements.
As a manager within Cab Technology you are expected to have a strong customer focus and excellent networking and communication skills.
You need to be an inspiring leader and have a positive mind-set, interested in developing people as well as creating high performing teams. You should have excellent English skills.
