We are looking for a new member to join our team for the position as Global Battery Expert.
You will be given a unique opportunity to shape and drive the early development of Volvo Energy together with the leadership team and a set of skilled and committed colleagues. You will make a difference
We now need to strengthen our team with world-class battery competence. You will get the opportunity to take an active role in one of our top initiatives, which is expanding the life of the batteries for the usage in second life. You will work closely with our amazing colleagues within the engineering team that focuses on first life.
Your starting point will be to build up an ecosystem for Volvo Group with the purpose of optimizing the batteries during the complete life cycle from a sustainability perspective. To understand the ageing, failure mechanisms and safety for different applications will be a crucial part of the optimization process.
The location for the position is flexible and will be in Gothenburg, Sweden, or in Bangalore, India.

Qualifications likely required to be successful
Master's Degree or PhD in Electrochemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other equivalent background within battery cell technology. We except you to have a deep understanding of the electrochemical process in the cell.
Significant working experience with Li-ion battery cells, particular about ageing, safety, cell testing and measurement technology.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
