The group Total Vehicle Geometry (TVG) has the responsibility for geometry assurance within Volvo Car Group Manufacturing. The responsibility are for all plants worldwide and therefor the organisation is very flexible and multicultural. We are all together approximately 190 employees where 50 of us are located in Olofström. At the unit here at Volvo Cars Body Component (VCBC) we have the responsibility for geometry assurance of all delivery units which are produced here at VCBC. We are also the main supplier of sheet metal parts at Volvo Car Group and produce about 50 million parts per year supplying all Volvo models. Geometry has a vital role of the quality of the car therefore TVG has a very important function to assure that Volvo Car Group is a top quality product.
As Geometry Assurance Engineer you will be part of the transition in order to fulfill our vision for 2020. You will be a part in a small group with great opportunities to develop your own skills. Together with a small team in Manufacturing you will work with both research engineers and application engineers. You will also work together with many functions in the Volvo Car Group organisation such as the pre-matching group, production and new car projects. As a part of our team, you get access to long-term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing field, where you have a direct influence on customer satisfaction.
Main responsibilities
* Ensure that the geometry on our parts/ delivery units are according to our requirements both internal and external at Olofström and worldwide
* Analyse together with pre-matching team of new and existing processes
* Freeze work in CM4D as agreed with the customer
* Monitor and analyse results of product outcomes and propose actions during the running production phase
* Maintaining customer contacts and secure deliveries towards customers with daily contact both internally and externally
* Operate daily alarm meetings and be responsible for ensuring that information reaches the relevant customer and that actions regarding deviations is taken care of
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. grade within mechanical engineering, equal education or similar work experience which are related to the work
* Previous technical experience is meritorious
* Project Management skills
* Skills to present results and methods
* Fluent in English, written and spoken

* Holistic view and conceptual thinking
* Business and performance driven
* A good communicator
* Geometry knowledge preferred
