hela Sverige The team Product Governance & CA is looking for an experienced design engineer to work as Geometrical engineer / Packaging support.
The Group
Product Governance and Customer Adaptation.
We are a team of highly skilled engineers working in several different areas of the chassis scope, e.g. axle installations, engine installation and chassis structure.
We are involved with different roles in the whole lifecycle of the truck, from projects in early phases until Customer adaptation and maintenance of trucks in production.
This gives the team a unique position and a merged view of all on-going activities and projects.
We are about to strengthen our product governance within the team of Geometrical Engineers.
Job Description - Geometrical Engineer
You will work in a team of experienced geometrical engineers, supporting the on-going projects with packaging and conceptual studies, investigating product change consequences in new projects, covering the whole scope of chassis.
You will have the possibility to grow into the role with help from your colleagues.
You will act as the main contact within a certain geometrical area towards our design engineers, project managers and other external stakeholders (Product planning, Manufacturing etc.)
The team gets involved in investigations before project start up, on request by Chassis PM or e.g. Product Planning which gives us a good overview of coming projects.
There will be opportunities to work with development in all phases, from early pre studies to maintenance (quality and cost improvement).
Main Deliveries
• Virtual packaging investigations
• Conceptual packaging proposals and design solutions
• Packaging support towards engineers within projects
• Leading packaging activities in early phases together with Chassis Project management
• Represent Chassis in cross functional packaging meetings
The main tools, besides your own competence and common sense, will be Creo Parametric,
Creo View, KOLA, AVP (Automatic vehicle packaging) and other in-house developed tools.

Required experiences and skills
• University degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience from product development, automotive industry/mechanics,using 3D CAD >4 years (Creo Parametric)
• Experience of working in large assemblies with 3D CAD (Creo Parametric)
• Good knowledge of heavy duty vehicles, preferable within truck industry.
• Good knowledge in written and spoken English.
