Your role will be enhanced by collaborating with other top-notch engineers where you will be provided opportunities to learn and contribute to the architecture, design, implementation, test and integration of flight and mission critical software.
You will work in a tight team with very versatile tasks, giving you opportunities to acquire different types of skills. Your role is to capture and understand the customer requirements, translate them into technical requirements and define a product architecture, to ensure that our product meets the customer expectations. You will also, together with your team, have the responsibility to develop system functions for Gripens navigation. Some of the tasks are:
* Analysis and break down of systems requirements, on the different sub-systems such as HW and SW
* Definition of product architectures
* Perform studies
* System documentation
* Test och verification of software and system in simulator
Your skills and experience
* Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering, for example Electronics, Computer Science, Flight Engineering, System Engineering, Applied Physics, etc, is not a requirement but preferable. We put more importance on experience or that you are the right person for the job
* Programming and testing experience of complex systems is not a requirement, but preferable
* It is a merit if you have previous experience with and C++, although not a requirement
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English
* Able to work in a team and take initiative

Your work will have purpose and value. As part of Saab Primary Data and Navigation you will collaborate with others to develop and supply Gripen's navigation system to customers around the globe. We play an important role in the development of the whole Gripen System, where we not only make the flight characteristics, but also provide software important for mission solving.
Saab Primary Data and Navigation develops and supplies Gripen with information that, for example, helps the pilot understand the airplanes movement and location in relation to the ground during missions.

How is it to work in Saab?
I haven't worked for another company, so I don't have anything else to compare with, even so, I do enjoy working here. I feel that my co-workers are very keen to help and that there are no stupid questions.
Since my first day, I feel that I have been able to do what I have wanted; going to courses I find interesting, focusing on some task or getting new roles. Saab does not stop you from going in whatever direction you want to go to.
We do a lot of different tasks which brings variation to our job. It is hard to describe what exactly we do because it varies all the time but that means it never gets boring and you are always learning new things.
We have some organisations within Saab so you can connect with other people from other sections. For example, there is an organisation for women and another for young people.
What is especially fun with your work?
For me is that I have been able to follow the product from start to end. From an idea to a finished function. It takes time and it is difficult at first, but you learn a lot and you meet all types of people on the way. It is also incredible fun to test the function you have been developing in the simulator.
Is there something you would like to tell to someone who does not have any experiences with Saab?
I was new in Linköping when I started working here. As I said before, Saab has an organisation for younger people that organizes different activities. Thanks to that I manage to connect with new people and find new friends. So if you also come from another city and fear that you won't know anyone, don't worry! You will have a chance here at Saab too.
What do you think about the team you work with?
I work in several teams and we all have a lot of fun together. We meet on After Works and do different things, for example we went golfing, flying and after summer we are going sailing.
