AniCura is one of Europe 's leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, and is now hiring its first General Counsel. In this role, you will get a unique opportunity to set up a legal function in a fast growing international Group of companies. You will be working in an entrepreneurial environment and have a strategic role in AniCuras organisation.
The Role
As General Counsel you are responsible for leading AniCura 's Legal function. As such, you will anticipate and prioritize the key legal issues for AniCura and develop and implement an aligned legal strategy for AniCura to seize growth opportunities while effectively managing legal risks. The role is primarily to drive the legal function in order to support the management team as well as the operations with legal support. Much of your working time will be working closely with the commercial teams and external law firms. Further, you will be the contact person for providing commercial-oriented legal advice to the business. In addition, you will be contributing to our Group-wide strategic program, supporting our company to lead the way. You will be working within a wide range of business law matters with focus on transactions, general commercial and company law.
You will report to Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to General Counsel, Mars Veterinary Health. The main place of work is Stockholm, although other locations may be considered. The work will include travelling.
Who are you?
You have a Swedish or foreign LL.M. degree followed by at least 10 years of experience of international business law with focus on M&A and general commercial law from a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel. A requirement for succeeding in this job is experience from working in an international environment and being fluent in English. You have a solid legal background and experience from diverse areas of law such as M&A, general commercial and corporate law, competition law and contracts negotiations. You have significant exposure to working across multiple jurisdictions and cultures and you have the ability to juggle priorities effectively whilst being able to take a step back and plot realistic timescales, manage stakeholder expectations and be able to take a commercial and pragmatic approach to risk. To be successful in this role, you need to take initiatives and manage activities on your own. Important qualifications are abilities to cooperate and communicate.
