As Packaging Engineer, you will design, prototype, test, and implement packaging solutions for products manufactured and shipped worldwide. You will enhance an existing packaging design team aimed at supporting design efforts for new products, existing products, and spare parts.
As Packaging Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with the design and development of protective packaging solutions for GE Healthcare Life Sciences instrumentation hardware.
Analyze engineering models, drawings, and specifications to determine the physical characteristics of new and existing products, special-handling and safety requirements, and types of materials required for safe and efficient transport.
Work with sourcing and production to evaluate feasibility and reduce costs of proposed packaging solutions.
Develop 3D CAD models, specifications, prototypes, and functional analyses of custom product packaging solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (defined as 7 years relative engineering experience).
• An energetic and ambitious approach to design and process challenges.
• An ability to leverage newly acquired knowledge and skills into strategic and focused improvement activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid English skills with use as working language.
Desired Characteristics:
• Previous experience with the design of product packaging solutions.
• Mechanical Environmental Testing experience.
