We create digital toys and everyday products that are filled with fun and silliness that kids from any corner of the world can instantly relate to. Everything is designed from their perspective. We celebrate the diversity and quirkiness of their world and give kids the freedom to play in ways that only they can dream up.
In order to be able to create more world-class digital toys, we're currently looking for game programmers for our "New Digital Toys" team in Stockholm.
What you'll be doing:
Develop new apps in Unity and be responsible for the technical architecture, specification, timings and execution.
Develop apps on a day-to-day basis by building products, tools and prototypes as well as working with the artists and play designers on technical solutions.
Be responsible for the functionality and performance of the app.
As a Game Programmer at Toca Boca you will be part of a creative, colourful office and team focused on building something new and original for kids. We work in small, highly effective teams working in fast iterative cycles with a focus on the kids perspective.
We're currently building a new multiplayer experience on a larger scale than our previous productions. The sooner you join, the bigger the impact you'll have on the final product and the gameplay and systems we implement. Pretty cool, huh?
We believe that you:
Love toys and games, and are passionate about creating them!
Have experience in software development and Unity game engine.
Can be the go-to person for technical advice in any process and take an active role in educating others within your field.
As we work in cross functional teams, it's important that you're happy to engage and discuss with all disciplines of the team throughout the whole production. You're an excellent team player focused on the overall team goals rather than individual tasks.
We need your help to be able to identify the risks, dependencies and priorities in a project. We therefore expect you to pay attention to details, be curious and take pride in your work.
You have a good understanding of shaders optimised for mobile devices, interactions and animations. That's quite important to what we do, digital toys for kids.
Good to know:
This position is full time and based in our Stockholm office. We apply 6 months probationary employment.
We would love it if you could invite us to play a game that you've made, whether it's live in an app store or elsewhere.
As we're an international company, with 10+ nationalities and millions of users in every country you have to be fluent in English.
