About the position

Massive is looking for a Game Designer to join an international team, working on Tom Clancy?s The Division?. The Game Designer will be responsible for building part of the game systems as well as managing economic aspects of the game design. He/she controls the virtual economy (how the player wins and spends virtual money in the game) and designs game features that compel, engage players on the long term and provide monetization opportunities. He/she will identify and develop the motivation drivers in the game economy context and provide data-driven recommendation on design.

Responsibilities:
• Design, prototype and support the economic systems to drive players to invest in the game?s economy (in- game as well as across multiple platforms and on-line services)
• Model, tune and manage complex game systems & mechanics (rewards, features) to engage players & fulfill their needs
• Understand the player?s key motivation levers (progression, reward, social)
• Define the virtual products (relation, life cycle, streams of availability)
• Work closely with the data analyst to design the metrics system to ensure the data collection triggering economy adjustments and tuning

You as a candidate

As a Game Designer, in this position, you should be absolutely passionate about games, game development and the craft of game design. You should be comfortable with taking initiative and independently find creative solutions to complex problems. You should also be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team, where you will be expected to - through collaboration - achieve the highest quality possible. You should have very high standards in everything you do and a devotion to creating the best game experience ever.
You should have solid experience and a firm grasp of both the hard and soft values involved in making a game play as smooth and precise as possible. How to make technology and visuals co-exist in perfect harmony, and make 1 + 1 = 3.

Required skills and experience:
• In-depth knowledge and experience with online games
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience
• Worked on/shipped several titles
• Absolute passion for playing and making games, especially RPG and TPS games
• Extremely quality oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent understanding of what makes games fun and compelling
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Additional skills
• Experience working with iterative development and quick iterations
• Experience developing third-person action games
• Experience developing RPGs
• Experience working with node based tools/engines
• A firm grasp of basic scripting principles
• A firm grasp of basic mathematics
