hela Sverige We are looking for a FX Director to head up the work with special effects for our MMO.
About the position
You will work closely with the Art Director and the Technical Art Director to guide and define the visual style and language of special effects in the game. As the FX Director you will be ultimately responsible for all effects from design to implementation in the game.
Description/Responsibilities
• Visual style for the FX of the game
• Work as a liaison between all stakeholders
• Lead a team of FX artists to create the most appealing FX for the game
• Give directions and feedback
About you as a candidate
You should be passionate about special effects and their role in a game, you have probably played several MMO's and you have a deep understanding for the special effects needs of the genre. As a director you are obsessed with quality and you constantly strive to create the best possible work. As a manager you are open to feedback and you are in close communication with your team. You are expected to elevate your team members through your support and expertise.
Requirements
• A passion for video games and MMO games in particular
• You've worked in the games or film industry for 3 or more years, with at least one shipped title
• You have the ability to look at any effect, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and give concrete recommendations for improvement
• You're comfortable leading a team and you are able to inspire others to raise the bar
• You're versed in the workflow pipelines for visual effects in games and/or film
• You have a thorough understanding of the wider game development process
• You are able to demonstrate strong 2D and 3D expertise, with proficiency in any mayor 3D application package and Photoshop
• You have strong organizational, problem solving and analytical ability
• You have solid understanding of fluids, smoke, fire and explosions
Plusses
• You possess knowledge creating destructible content for action/adventure games
• Animation knowledge
