hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos International Foundation for Science (IFS) i Stockholm The International Foundation for Science team is looking for a Fundraiser who will be responsible for seeking financial support for IFS from public sources such as bilateral and international development organizations and international and national research institutions and from private sources such as private foundations and international and national corporations including crowd-funding and such alternative fundraising methods.
The position collaborates closely with the Chair as well as the Director of IFS, aiming at building good relationships with partners and donors and raising financial support for IFS. In particular the position oversees the planning, development, and implementation of all aspects of the funding process, including:
• Cultivating and soliciting public and private sources of support
• Advancing IFS in all aspects of the funding process
• Communicating the organisation 's case for support to partners/donors and other prospects
• Carrying out prospect research
• Developing strategies and tactics for the approach of major donor prospects by with IFS management and Board
• Planning the donor stewardship
• Preparing and monitoring the funding timetable and budget.
• Supervising the development of funding communication materials, including brochures, newsletters and reports
Requirements for the position:
• University degree
• Appreciation of IFS environment and values
• Proven track record of philanthropic engagement at a high level with public and private sector major donors
• Proven project management skills: project driven and goal oriented
• Strong communication experience and skills, very good command of English
• High social competence and relation building capacity
• Excellent command of English
The position will report to the Director of IFS.
IFS was founded as a Research Council and registered as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Sweden in 1972. IFS receives funding from a portfolio of donors and funders including development organisations and science academies.
IFS provides opportunities for young scientists to propose research into biological and water resources in low income countries. These proposals are rigorously assessed by international experts, with grants and support provided to the very best early career scientists to enable them to work in their own country and tackle research issues related to local needs.
IFS has awarded over 8 000 small grants, in over 105 countries, building capability of tens of thousands of young developing world researchers.
