We are currently looking for an experienced Functional Safety Manager to work with the electric vehicles and advanced powertrain system solutions of the future! Functional Safety is a fundamental part of the design of all modern control systems, and with the introduction of more stringent standards and regulations this trend is sure to increase in importance.
Our team, Transmission System Software, is responsible for the complete transmission control system, steering the gearbox, e-machine and other drivertrain components. The responsibilities include software architecture and safety concepts. Our group is characterised by a strong sense of community and team spirit, and a great enthusiasm for Scanias products.
Your tasks
In the role of Functional Safety Manager, you will work close to our teams of experienced developers, to coach and support in dealing with safety architectural design issues. You will be part of our team of system architects, and will drive changes to our system design to fulfill safety requirements.
Your focus will be on analysing and defining technical solutions and concepts. You will also have a far-reaching responsibility for developing the concept of functional safety, and you will assume the formal role of Functional Safety Manager for some of our systems and projects.
An important part of the work is also to actively participate in the development of working methods and tools to support our long-term strategic goals, in particular relating to the fulfillment of safety standards.
The role of Safety Manager is strategically important for Scania's evolution, and you will have great opportunities to influence the technology of the future!
Your profile
We look for you who want to work with sustainable transportation solution, and has solid experience as Safety Manager and/or experience from work with safety standards and methods.
You possibly have your background in automotive, railway or aeronautical engineering, but other engineering backgrounds may also be viable. Regardless of your current field of engineering, you have a firm understanding of the relevant safety standards used in your field.
You probably have a MSc in Engineering or equivalent knowledge from work experience within systems development.
You have a deep knowledge of and experience from functional safety work, e.g. working methods such as HARA and FMEA. Knowledge of and eperience from working with the ISO 26262 standard is a strong merit, but you could also have experience from similar standards from other fields.
Knowledge of and experience from Requirements Engineering is a strong merit.
Knowledge of the development of real-time systems and experience of coding as well as knowledge of languages such as C, Matlab Simulink and Python or equivalent is a merit, as it helps in collaborating with the developers, but it is not a requirement.
You have well-developed analytical and strategic thinking skills, and can analyse the organisation's overall needs and on that basis implement the necessary changes. You have well-established expertise within the requested areas, and want to continuously develop both your expertise and working methods. You express yourself accurately, clearly and concisely in writing and in speech, and have the ability to communicate your analysis in an engaging way.
You have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing in English. Swedish skills are meriting.
