Who are we?
Volvo Cars has an ambition to be the leading car manufacturer in Active Safety, Electrification and Autonomous Drive. To do this, Functional Safety is of outmost importance to our products and we intend to fulfil the ISO 26262 Road vehicles - Functional Safety standard. In Corporate Quality we are responsible for functional safety assessment and we have established the role since early 2016.
What you'll do:
We are now looking for a Functional Safety Assessor to grow our in-house assessment capability. You will report to the Director Audits & Assessments, and evaluate the functional safety of designs and developed within Product & Quality. As a Functional Safety Assessor you will be independently responsible for assessing the functional safety of a design product by reviewing the safety related design documentation and verifying that ISO 26262 requirements are fulfilled by the project.
This means:
* To conduct Functional Safety Assessment according to ISO 26262 (i.e. assess achieved level of functional safety for a system/ function complete product)
* To conduct the confirmation measures required for the Functional Safety Assessment.
* Together with System Safety team and external contacts, improve the knowledge and understanding around ISO 26262 within Volvo Cars
* Functional safety assessment planning and reporting of results (recommending acceptance, conditional acceptance or rejection of the achieved functional safety) regarding ISO 26262
* Functional Safety Audit of the development process
What do you need to have?
We see that you have a master of science in Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation control or similar competence through other education and /or professional experience
You have at least five years' experience from development of electronics and software systems, preferable with a combination of functional-, system-, hardware and software development for embedded system and have at least three years of experience from functional safety engineering within Automotive or other relevant areas (nuclear, aerospace, rail etc)
You also have:
* In depth knowledge of ISO 26262 and its application or other relevant standards as of above
* Experience from working with assessment methodology
* Experience from working in product development process
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
