Our powertrain control systems are key to function, performance and environmental impact of our products. The Powertrain Control System Development section is responsible for the complete delivery to market of the application software within the engine and aftertreatment systems. The Engine Control Diagnostics group has the task of overseeing system safety and requirement setting, our role being to ensure that the section follows the safety standards requested of the system, the software and all related componentry.
Being part of the Volkswagen Truck & Bus concern has presented new customers, both internal and external, who bring with them new demands. As such, the need has arisen for a driven functional safety architect to join our team.
Your duties
Lead, coach and review functional safety work in relation to the engine and aftertreatment control systems
Help to define and implement processes, routines and participate in the selection of relevant tools
You will be a natural contact in the area of functional safety to our customers both internal, as the sections representative on complete vehicle level, and external.
An integral part of the work will be to continuously improve tools and process for issue management, requirements and specifications.

You will work closely with colleagues within the group and, together with a central organisation for functional safety conformance, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge within the area.
Your profile
You have a degree in engineering or equivalent documented education/experience in functional safety or embedded systems.
We expect that you have previously worked with industry specific (air, rail, etc) safety standards and requirement handling.
In your work you are organised, quality conscious and shoulder responsibility easily. As a colleague you are positive, listen intentively and address the needs and concerns of others.As a leader you have confidence in your ability to deliver and can clearly transfer desired goals and bring others with you.
It is advantageous to have knowledge and/or prior experience of powertrain technology, diagnostics, Lean development, ISO26262, embedded systems or testing.
You can express yourself both verbally and in writing in English.The ability to speak Swedish or the willingness to learn are advantageous.
