The engine development department is the centre within Volvo CE for development of engines and auxiliary components for engines. The development responsibility consists of engine mechanical design, performance development and design of auxiliary components for engines. Today we are doing this development for Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road and Utility Machinery
We are now in a need of strengthen the department for Engine Auxiliary Systems (EAS) with a new colleague within the area of exhaust aftertreatment hardware design
Functional project leader exhaust aftertreatment
The EAS department is looking for an ambitious HW-engineer which will act as part project leader for aftertreatment components and systems for one or several engine platforms. Except excellent technical skills, your power of initiative should be high with an ability to plan and perform your work independently.
Within this role you will be part of a project team which works with the complete engine system. Your role will be to plan and lead your own activities and deliveries of aftertreatment hardware components to the project. The components and systems being developed within the project are used on multiple Volvo CE products worldwide. Understanding different machines? need and find common solutions will therefore be essential in your daily work. In order to understand deviations from normal functions of our components and systems being developed, testing to build knowledge will sometimes be needed that you perform.
The work is carried out in close co-operation with other engine development departments, our different product platforms and external suppliers. Therefor a high ability and willingness to communicate with your internal customers and external suppliers is necessary in this role.
We constantly work with improving our throughput time for project activities and you will be a part of improving the department's efficiency.
Qualifications for the work
• M.Sc or B.Sc in mechanical engineering with experience of HW design of engine components, preferably aftertreatment components
• High ability to time plan and structure yours and other's work
• Very high power of initiatives
• Interest for and knowledge of engines is seen as a merit
• High ability and willingness to communicate and work in a global environment
• High knowledge in written and spoken English, since the work is done in an international environment
