The department Electric Propulsion System (EPS) Engineering is responsible for development of all major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. Sub-systems as Electric Drives, HV Batteries, Power supplies, Chargers etc. are some of our responsibilities.

The group Charging System is responsible for delivering system solution and SW functionality for the on-board charger (OBC) system in our electrified vehicles. Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market and continuously evolve our development platform. We are working with continuous integration as development praxis and we are striving towards continuous deployment of Software.

As Function Realisation Responsible (FRR)/System Designer (SD) for OBC you will be responsible for the realisation of the OBC functions and you shall create a technical solution using model based system development. The function owner (FO) describes a system with use cases, scenarios and detailed object. The FRR assists in this work and provide the OBC function requirements in Volvo requirement system. The Function Realisation (FR) shows which HW and SW are included in the realisation of a function and includes requirements on the involved electrical subsystems. The FRR shall ensure that a common solution is created together with the function owner for the electrical subsystems that are part of realising the OBC function. For this, the FRR must see to that the responsibilities of each electrical subsystem for realising the function's requirements is described As a System Designer you are also responsible for describing a system solution in the electrical system that fulfils technique. The system designer designs and document the system solution securing that the input requirements from the legal attribute and function realisation areas are fulfilled and are in line with the architectural intents given by the function owner. The system designer is responsible for the quality assuring activities like e.g. review and verification activities for the electrical system solution are performed. The two roles are separate but complement each other, this position consist of both roles.

Main responsibilities:

* Be the interface between the Function Owner (FO) and the electrical system
* Responsible for performing integration test and secure OBC functionality with the other components
* For Safety related functions, a Functional Safety Concept (FSC) must be described
* Plan the system development according to the Function Implementation Plan (FIP)
* Analyse and agree incoming requirements from the Function design requirement (FDR)
* For systems with ASIL classified requirement create or update Project System Safety Plan

Required qualifications

* Education at technical university at M.Sc. Level or the equivalent competence by years of practice
* Skills in model based development, Matlab/Simulink
* Experience from electrical system design
* Understanding of software development workflow and processes
* Driver 's license B
* Experience in software development for embedded systems is meritorious
* Experience with SVN and Jira or similar issue tracking tool is meritorious
* Experience of working with system requirement is meritorious
* Experience of on-board charger functionality is meritorious
* Knowledge about charging standards: AC, CHAdeMO, CCS is meritorious
* Knowledge about AUTOSAR architect and development is meritorious
