About us
The first thing you will notice on a car is the exterior with its front and rear lighting. The Exterior Lighting is a key communication point for Volvo Cars towards the customers, and this will even increase in the future, due to more advanced technique and styling.
We are now looking for a Function owner who together with the rest of the Function team defines customer- and product requirements for Exterior Lighting. This includes Front-, Rear- and Adaptive lighting for all Volvo Cars.
What you'll do
You will be working together with requirements setting and describing the functions in different areas of Exterior Lighting. Some of the areas you might be responsible for as a Function owner for Exterior Lighting ART (Agile Release Train) includes: Low beam, Position light, High beam, DRL (Daytime Running Light), Cornering Light Function etc.
To be successful in this role you need to work cross functionally together with different areas of the product development such as Electrical ART 's and Design.
What is in it for you?
In your role as a Function Owner you will act as stakeholder for Epics/ Capabilities and drive those to implementation cross solutions. You enjoy having the role as an innovative developer of the function over time, perform Hazard Analysis and do competitor benchmarking functional wise. You will gain deep knowledge of the functionality regarding customer perspective by benchmarking.
You will work with Functional disposition for the function in Car Weaver & assess interfaces to other functions and systems. You will also participate in function implementation planning, verification planning and issue resolution.
Sometimes you need to participate in verifications outside office hours.
You and your skills
It is necessary for you to have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
We see also the need of documented Project Leadership experiences from known Car Industries.
It is of high interest if you have background and experience of MATLAB/ Simulink and have worked within vehicle electric architecture.
For this role it is also preferable if you have experience from Agile SW and function development.
Personal profile
On a personal level we are looking for you who are communicative and driven. You have leadership skills and can work individually and in team and act as the "spider in the web" through the whole ART and other concerned ARTs within your area of responsibilities.
You are a person with a positive attitude, who likes to be proactive and has the courage to take the initiative instead of waiting for instructions.
You also have a great interest in learning the technologies within Exterior Lighting Systems to understand the functions better.
