Design team Vehicle Mode Management (VMM) has as one of it's main responsibility areas to balance supply and demand for electrical energy/power in our cars. In a near future, we will introduce cars with three different voltage levels coexisting in the car, conventional 12 volt, 48 volt and 400 volt systems. Manage Electrical Energy (MEE) is a function that will balance supply and demand for electrical energy in the vehicle based on the vehicle needs. This implies charging and discharging of energy storages to fulfill overall vehicle energy strategies, to communicate current energy and power capabilities to other functions and to calculate and coordinate battery power to actuators and loads. It will also prioritise available power between actuators and loads.
We are now looking for a Function Owner who together with the VMM team will develop the function solution in the cars. You will based on overarching energy strategies and requirements define the conceptual mechanisms and to realise the solution by putting requirements on all sub-systems included in the solution, how to react, interact and communicate with each other. You will be working within a wide network of function, sub-system and component design engineers. Once the solution is put in production you will be responsible for maintaining the solution based on customer feedback as well as potential issues reported back from the field.
Main responsibilities
• Develop a long-term strategy for the function
• Monitor and analyse competitor's solutions
• Develop and document function solutions for defined car programs
• Define and cascade requirements to affected design areas
• Support implementation in affected design areas
• Secure the functional solution by verification and validation tests on a complete car level
• Follow-up on field issues and customer feedback and participate in corrective actions
Required qualifications
• Sc. in Electrical Engineering or corresponding competence gained by long experience
• God understanding in systems engineering process
• Experience in Electrical System Development
• Ability to assess different technical solutions
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
