Who we are
Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining solutions for both hardware as well as related functions in the areas of cooling systems, cooling fans and air cleaners for the Volvo Group truck business worldwide.
The responsibility includes ownership of global technology strategies for our areas, as well as the complete development from advanced engineering to maintenance of parts, systems and functions introduced on Volvo Group trucks around the world. We are now looking for a Function Development Engineer to further strengthen our team!
Position Summary
As Function Development Engineer at Powertrain Installation your task will be to develop the end user functions within the powertrain installation area. Your main responsibilities will be to model and simulate the functions in Matlab/Simulink, and to perform testing and calibration in both lab and truck environment.
Main responsibilities
• Function development and testing through modelling and simulation in Matlab/Simulink
• Perform calibration, testing, verification and validation activities towards functional requirement fulfilment
• Propose and perform advanced engineering tasks to prepare for future technology needs
• Contribute to method development and technology strategies within the powertrain installation area
• Documentation and reporting of your results

Qualifications
In order to be successful in the role as Function Development Engineer Powertrain Installation Functions we believe that you recognize yourself in the following description.
• MSc in mechatronics, electronics or other relevant engineering field
• Very good skills in Matlab/Simulink, emphasis will be put on this qualification
• Knowledge in control engineering, mechatronics, electronics, system modelling or function development
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and cooling system is preferred
• Knowledge of agile development methodology will be regarded as positive
• Experience from working in the automotive industry or from function development will be considered an asset
• Driving license for car is required, and an interest to acquire truck driving license will be seen as positive
• Analytical and self-driven with positive, global and problem solving mind-set
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
