We are looking for analytically skilled engineers - both junior and senior - to strengthen our Vehicle Motion Management team.

At the forefront of Research and Development in the automotive industry, Volvo Group Truck Technology (GTT) offers you the opportunity to become a part of the Vehicle Motion Management team. The team is part of the Vehicle Automation department which has the responsibility to lead the development of Vehicle Automation and Active Safety systems for the full life-cycle enabling tomorrow's trucks. Vehicle Automation is part of Vehicle Engineering, responsible for developing vehicle components and systems for the different brands within the Volvo Group.

Who are we?
The Vehicle Motion Management team today consists of 11 driven engineers working in an agile set-up. We work tightly together where helping and supporting each other in our daily delivery is just as important as our personal development on the journey towards our common goals. We work in the whole chain from requirement generation and concept design to function development, simulation, rapid prototyping, tests in prototype trucks, but also in the later Product Development phases and projects.

The scope of the team is Vehicles Motion Management, which essentially means that for given future desired vehicle states, coordinate and allocate actuators while securing vehicle stability and safety.

Examples of areas we want to strengthen: state estimations through sensor fusion and filter techniques, control allocation, stability control, functional safety.

Position Description
As a member of our team, your main tasks can be some of below:
Elaborate high level strategies and control logic to enable targeted customer features
Validate & Verify developed solutions in vehicle tests, in simulations and other system setups
Integrate solutions into production hardware
This technology domain is a growing area where the R&D efforts will continue to grow during the coming years; the room for personal development and growth will be very good. You will work in an international environment in the forefront of automotive research.

Who are you?
We believe that you are curious, flexible, open-minded and eager to continuously improve your skills. You have an innovative, pragmatic, collaborative and creative mind-set of handling technical challenges. You enjoy team work but at the same time you are able to work independently and drive development on your own. You have a positive attitude and the willingness and ability to take initiatives to progress and deliver.

You can either be fresh out of school or have several years of experience within the field. Experiences from development of embedded systems all the way to a finalized product are highly appreciated. Your passion for what you do is important to us and depending on your profile the position may vary.

You have a master degree in Engineering Physics, Automation, Signal processing, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or similar.

You have a strong technical background, experience or interest in one or several of the following areas:
Control systems, algorithm design, signal processing
State estimations, sensor fusion and filter design
Vehicle dynamics & control
Optimization
Systems modeling and simulation
System and software development in Simulink, Matlab
Rapid prototyping of SW and implementing in related tools e.g. dSpace, or xPC
Embedded systems and software development and architecture
Functional safety and ISO 26262
