The positions are based in teams within the department Active safety & Vehicle Dynamics functions. The teams are responsible for development of function and software that help the car avoid or mitigate collisions. This support consists of warning and autonomous emergency braking, but in the future autonomous steering interventions will be used as well. Several functions throughout the years were 'World First' at launch and there is a high set goal to continue this within the teams
In the All-new XC90 the teams put collision avoidance technologies in production. Functions that supports drivers in avoiding rear-end and pedestrian accidents day and night. Likewise, support at intersections if the driver do not see an oncoming vehicle as he turns. The All-new XC90 scored a record-breaking 100% in crash avoidance and driver assist Euro NCAP testing.
The positions will span from junior to senior level. As Function and Software developer, you will work in all phases of the development of Collision Avoidance functionality from early specifications, function model development and SW generation to launch and costumer quality validation. The role spans over several technical areas. Since the function is distributed over different parts of the car architecture, your network and interaction will be wide and challenging. In the junior role you will be able to drive your development by yourself due to our agile team based development process, where tasks is taken on, on own request and initiative. The team consists of a spread of engineers in age, gender, experience and background, from whom all you will learn. As a Senior Function and Software developer, you will in addition be able to develop leadership and technical skills and guide junior members of the team.
Main responsibilities
• Function, model and software development
Required qualifications
• Experience from model development in Simulink w/wo embedded Matlab
• Hands on experience from coding in embedded Matlab, C, C++ or equivalent
• M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science with emphasis on control theory, interaction and function design
• Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
• Driver's licence (B-level)
Junior:
• Direct education of, or master thesis within, the Collision Avoidance or Active Safety Area
Senior:
• Ten years work experience from product development and/or function and SW development, of those at least 5 years within Active Safety such as development of Collision Avoidance functionality
