Function and Software Developer, Active Safety and Automated Drive
Are you passionate about active safety and automated drive? We are looking for a Function and software developer. At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding premium cars from Volvo. The group Automated Drive within the unit Active safety & Chassis is responsible for function and SW development within the area of automated drive. Current Volvo Car products offer Automated Drive functions such as Adaptive Cruise control that supports drivers with distance keeping to vehicles in front, and steering support as well.

As a Function and Software Developer you will be responsible within the area of strategic and tactical planning regarding the automated drive functions. The position involves development of functions and software and you will be working within a team of skilled engineers with responsibility of planning, developing and testing SW and control algorithms.

Main responsibilities

• Function & SW development with Simulink and Embedded matlab as main development tools
• Development of SW algorithms within the area of strategic and tactical planning for semi or fully autonomous vehicles
• Develop SW unit tests
• Documenting SW and requirements
• Maintenance of issues in issue management systems (such as Jira)

Required qualifications

• Master of Science degree with focus on Math or Control theory
• Fluent in English both spoken and written
• Experience of software development within Matlab environment is meritorious
• Experience of Simulink as modelling and analysis tool is meritorious
• Experience of SW quality assurance methods is meritrious
• Experience of function development and experience of distributed, embedded control systems will be an asset
