Active safety & Vehicle Dynamics functions is responsible for developing function and software that use the latest technologies and methods to develop the safest car in the world offering an excellent driving experience. The group Collision Avoidance develop functionality that supports drivers in avoiding or mitigating accidents. The Current Volvo products offer collision avoidance technologies that supports drivers in avoiding rear-end and pedestrian accidents. This support consists of warning and autonomous emergency braking, but in the future autonomous steering interventions will be used as well. Several functions are in production and were launched as 'World First'. There is a high set goal to continue this world leadership.
As Function and Software developer you will be able to work in all development phases of Collision Avoidance functionality from early specifications, function development and SW generation to launch and customer quality validation. The role spans over several technical areas. Since the function is distributed over different parts of the car architecture, your network and interaction with other departments will be wide and challenging. You will use model based software development to rapidly build function prototypes and test the end user functionality in vehicles. The functionality is verified at our advanced test facilities and finally in real traffic all over the world. You will be able to develop leadership and technical skills and guide junior members of the team.

Main responsibilities
• Function, model and software development. We use a SW development process inspired by lean ideas coupled to the function development set by the car program, meaning we work in teams responsible for delivery to consecutive vehicle launches.
Required qualifications
• 5 years of work experience in software and function development, of which a substantial part within Active Safety is meritorious.
• M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Science with emphasis on control theory, interaction and function design or equivalent experience.
• An asset is experience of product development
• Working proficiency in English. Proficiency in Swedish is meritorious
• Driver's license (B-level)
