Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we're expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we're on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.
What's in it for you?
Would you like to join our in-store team that are building products supporting an outstanding shopping experience for our customers?
The team is based in "The Future Retail & Assisted Shopping Cluster" and is a part of the "Global Online Experience (GOX)" digital product organization and our mission is to provide an outstanding, seamless online-to-retail assisted shopping experience! Our goal is also to enable our sales teams to effectively reach their online D2C sales goals and empower our retail partners to efficiently operate the D2C business and deliver a world class customer experience.
We are building up Volvo Cars online sales capabilities and driving the shift toward a D2C business model. Our aim is clear - to provide customers with modern, flexible and hassle-free ways to access and own a car. With such high ambitions, Volvo Cars is undergoing a radical transformation in the way we design, build, and improve our digital products and offers. Our Online Platform unit continues to grow, and is looking for customer-obsessed, relentless individuals who can help us achieve our targets.
About the team
The in-store team enables a seamless digital sales experience at our retailers, Volvo studios and eye-catching pop-up studio. This is one of the key product teams in our journey into integrated online/offline direct consumer experience, where our retailers will play a fundamental part in showcasing our products and offers, and then ultimately guide the customer to do their purchase online.
You and Your Skills
We think you are an experienced full-stack engineer (10+ years of experience), who's worked on several products in the past. You have knowledge of Node.js and Javascript application development and you feel comfortable working in a platform with a Docker/Kubernetes/Cloud setup. You should have solid Frontend know-how and be familiar with contemporary front end tooling like React, Typescript & GraphQL.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity. The team is in it's foundational stages and we will be counting on you to not only drive engineering discovery & culture, but also contribute to product and design discovery. This is a fantastic opportunity to get in early on the team and shape it's course over the years to come!
Location can be either Gothenburg or Stockholm.
