Internationella Engelska Skolan in Örebro is an established independent school that is now expanding. We are opening a junior school this autumn and are looking for a Fritidspedagog.
IES Örebro is a part of Internationella Engelska Skolan i Sverige AB (IES), the largest independent school organization at compulsory level in Sweden.
We provide a calm and safe learning environment with high academic expectations. As a bilingual school, we teach both in English and in Swedish. Working at IES Örebro is about building a culture of success.
We are looking for an experienced fritidspedagog who wants to work with us at IESÖ and who will be responsible for our leisure activities / junior club. Together with the school's assistant principal and team leader for years 4-5, you will lead our Junior Club and coordinate activities in the school's student cafeteria during the day. You will be responsible for daily routines but also to be the in-house expert when it comes to longer term project work. Incorporating suggestions and ideas from students will be a central part of your position.
You will work closely with the teaching staff of years 4-5 and also have contact with other educators.
QUALIFICATIONS
Fritidspedagogexamen. You will also need to hold a valid driving license (B-körkort).
Experience in project management would be advantageous but not essential.
You will have worked in a similar position before and are keen to develop further. You have leadership qualities and thrive on challenges.
You should be familiar with the intricacies of Swedish law concerning after-school activities; you should thus be able to participate in planning should we decide to expand even further next year with fritidshem.
The successful candidate will start 1st August 2013; the position will permanent after a 6 month trial period. Salary negotiable.
