Your workplace
Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
The product area Display and Reconnaissance Systems in Stockholm/Järfälla is responsible for development of products handling video and graphics in manned and unmanned airborne vehicles. The products typically comprise algorithms for video processing, video compression and rendering of digital maps and flight data information.
We are looking for a FPGA Designer to the PLD Design section within the Product Engineering Hardware department. This department is currently in an expansive phase and in need of more resources within the electronics design discipline. We believe that a healthy mix between senior designers and less experienced engineers together form the most efficient teams. Hence, we also invite applications from newly graduated students.
Your role
We are looking for you that would like to work programmable logic design in specific, but also find electronics design in general interesting. You will work in teams of three to eight engineers, where you will get the opportunity to learn from engineers with several years of experience working with video and graphic electronics design.
We continuously develop new HW and FPGA designs to a number of products to different customers. You will follow our products from planning through design and implementation to manufacturing and test.
Your qualifications
You are an analytic, methodical and curious person. It is important that you have a genuine interest for electronics and are eager to learn more. You will be working with complex systems and it is prerequisite that you are open to study new technologies.
You should have:
• Masters or Bachelors degree within electronics or computer science
• Attended courses within digital and FPGA design
• An interest for video and graphics
• Ability to work both independently and in teams
• Good skills in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have experience within the following:
• Design and simulation of digital electronics
• Programming in C/C++/C#
• Analysis of high speed signals using oscilloscope and logic analyzer
