Job assignment
The recruited person will be responsible to run a CRISPR-facility within StemTherapy.
Stem Therapy is a research environment whose overall objective is to promote the creation of an intellectually challenging and technically advanced environment for top international level basic and translational/clinical research and education in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine.The StemTherapy environment enhances research outcomes which cannot be achieved otherwise, for example by individual groups alone; and furthermore stimulates highly-interactive and creative activities.
The recruited person will establish the facility as well as design, plan and execute experimental work within the facility.
The facility will provide the following services:
• Initial advice and guidance on which genome editing approach should be used for a particular experimental question focusing on (but not limited to) human pluripotent stem cells
• Design and initial validation of the CRISPR-based experimental approach
• Assist/perform in experimental work and validation of CRISPR-based experiments in close collaboration with the responsible scientist.
• Provide training for interested users including both seminars and courses The main task for the recruited person will be to be responsible for providing the above services.
Qualifications
We are looking for a research engineer with a PhD-degree in a relevant area. The following expertise are required:
• Wide expertise in culture of mouse and human cell lines, including stem cell cultures
• Wide expertise in molecular biology with a focus on generating DNA-constructs
• Excellent skills in writing/communicating in English
• Documented ability to collaborate at multiple levels.
