JOB DESCRIPTION - HOW?
Forest valuation M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) leader play a critical role in the growth and strategic development of Inter IKEA development of the forest asset portfolio. The work involves a mix of strategic planning, financial analysis, negotiation, and operational management, all aimed at ensuring successful and sustainable mergers and acquisitions. By leveraging their expertise, the M&A leader contribute to Inter IKEA expand the resource base, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve long-term growth objectives.
Be more specific on the assignments:
Market Research and Target Identification, conduct market research to identify potential forest properties or companies for acquisition.
Perform valuation of the selected targets based on strategic fit, financial health, and operational efficiency.
Manage comprehensive due diligence on the selected target, covering financial, legal, environmental, and operational aspects.
Valuation and Financial Modeling, perform a detailed valuation of the target's assets, including land, timber, and equipment, and develop a financial model to project future performance.
Negotiation and Deal Structuring, member of the team developing a negotiation strategy and structuring the deal.
Regulatory Compliance: Identify necessary regulatory approvals and permits required for the acquisition and ensure compliance.
Financing and Funding Strategy: Develop a financing strategy for the acquisition, including potential sources of funding and financial management plans.
Integration Planning: Be part of developing a comprehensive integration plan.
Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives within area of responsibility.
Stakeholder Communication: Prepare communication materials for internal and external stakeholders regarding the acquisition.

Post-Acquisition Review: Monitor post-acquisition performance and secure reporting to maximize return on investments.

To succeed in this role, you have:
Industry Knowledge, Understanding of sustainable forestry practices, silviculture, timber harvesting, and forest conservation. Knowledge of local, national, and international environmental laws and regulations affecting forestry. Insights into the timber market, supply chain logistics, and price volatility in wood products.
M&A Expertise, Proficiency in structuring deals, including asset purchases, stock purchases, and mergers. Ability to accurately value forestry assets, including land, timber, and equipment. Experience in conducting thorough due diligence, particularly in assessing legal, financial, and environmental risks. Strong negotiation skills to ensure favorable terms and conditions for acquisitions or mergers.
Financial Acumen, Competence in analyzing financial statements, cash flows, and profitability. Knowledge of various funding sources and financing options for M&A transactions, including private equity, debt financing, and public markets. Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks associated with forestry investments.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance, understanding of contract law, particularly as it pertains to property transactions and business combinations. Ensuring compliance with all relevant forestry regulations, labor laws, and corporate governance standards.
Project Management: Skills in planning and managing post-merger integration processes to combine operations, systems, and cultures effectively. Capability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the long-term objectives of the merged
