Your team
By taking the role of Foreign Trade & Investment Officer, you will join a team of about 80 people within the International Network Department.
The objective of your future team is simple: To assist Brussels companies with their ambitions in Sweden and to attract Swedish investors to Brussels-Capital Region.
Your missions
The FT&IO of the Representative of Brussels-Capital Region contributes to the efficient operation of the office abroad and assists the BCR Representative in daily administrative and operational tasks.
They help Brussels-based companies expand into the Swedish market by answering their queries and finding relevant information and contacts.
Similarly, in terms of foreign investments, the FT&IO supports and assists any Swedish company interested in establishing a subsidiary or branch in Brussels alongside the Representative of BCR.
Your two main responsibilities are:
1. Administrative Support to the Representative of BCR
• Administrative management and follow-up of official documents and correspondence
• Management of the office's social media
• Management of the office's email inbox
• Office logistics management
• Support for event organisation (administrative aspect)
• Management of the Representative of BCR's schedule
• Data entry and reporting of cases/helpdesk in the CRM
• Support for the preparation of the office's accounting
• Management of contracts with local suppliers
• Writing and sending minutes of meetings.
2. Operational Support to the Representative of BCR
• Prepare, participate in, and ensure follow-up of meetings between the Representative and Brussels-based, local companies as well as Brussels, and local partners.
• Collaborate with the Representative in prospecting new companies (focus on newly exporting businesses).
• Assist in organising events and ensure and plan their follow-up (operational aspect).
• Welcome delegations (including management of travel, hotels, and transfers).
• Assist with logistics at a collective stand at a fair, exhibition, etc.
• Assist with logistics during B2B meetings, networking events, etc.
• Formulate response proposals for clients
• Implement and initiate the Invest & Export action plan of hub.brussels in collaboration with the Representative and teams in Brussels.
• Gather business proposals from local companies and/or local or international tenders and forward them to the Representative.
• Ensure economic monitoring by tracking leading companies in the host country and, more broadly, legislative, regulatory, procedural, and practical developments related to business internationalisation.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of companies of the Brussels Region and key sectors of its economic development.
• Study the economic structure of the host country and the sectors with strong competitive potential for companies in the Brussels Region and communicate any relevant information to the Representative.
Your profile
Exclusive criteria
• BA in Economics, International Relations, or other relevant fields
• 2 years of experience in a similar field; Economic diplomacy, business development, etc ...
• You must have a Swedish Personal Number and have permanent residency, or be a Swedish citizen.
• You are proficient in at least one of the two official languages (French/Dutch)
