Job Description
About the Area
In Retail Experience, we're responsible for Retail System development to enable future success. This includes Customer Meeting Point formats, Customer engagement and experience, and Retail Commercial, which consists of the IKEA way to Present the offer, Sales, Retail Equipment, In-store planning (ISP), Services, and Food.
And in the Food Experience team, we lead the development of a food experience that is engaging and surprising our visitors with hassle free, convenient experiences in all customer meeting points and are accountable for successful application assignments and related methods and tools to ensure operational excellence (e.g. HACCP) and drive commercial success.
About the job
As a Food Safety Leader you will have the ability & opportunity to be responsible for leading and coordinating the area of food safety both globally and towards the franchisees. You are the owner of the food safety program at IKEA across the value chain.
Are you up for this challenge? You will:
Be responsible for leading and coordinating the area of food safety globally
Be matrix responsible for Country Food safety responsible at the different franchisees.
Build internal and external network including relationships with relevant global and national authorities, auditors and key suppliers on food safety.
Develop and maintain global food safety steering documents (IKEA Food Safety requirements, IConduct business requirements - product quality & safety)
Secure relevant training and development programs based upon the needs and secure the quality outcome.
Support business functions in operational questions connected to food safety in general.
Secure the process for verification and compliance for food safety in the IKEA stores.
Ensure that best practices and good ideas relating to area of responsibility are collected and communicated to relevant network.
Contribute to establishing a strong quality culture among all IKEA Food Co-workers.
You will not be alone! You will collaborate and work in close cooperation with many leaders and specialists of the different areas of expertise across the leadership assignments of Core Business Franchise as well as develop a sustainable business relationship with other colleagues from such as Range and Supply and IKEA retailers.
About you
To be able to succeed in this job, you need to share and live the IKEA values and you have a proven track record of both leading and coordinating the area of food safety globally and towards the countries, as well as and inspiring colleagues through the value chain.
You demonstrate well developed interdependent leadership; leading business agendas across broad networks in a collaborative way and delivering results through others.
You demonstrate how to be in tune with time in a constantly changing world, contribute with speed and an agile way of working to be updated and proactive towards changes in legislation, innovation and any food safety matter, worldwide.

To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills and experiences would be valuable:
We are looking for a person with education in microbiology and with extensive work experience in Food Safety in the food industry, food service or other food business. As a person, you are a team player and networker with a result-orientated mind. You have good communication skills and are great with people. You are an extrovert and excellent in talking in public. We see that you are structured, customer orientated, have a problem-solving approach and accuracy and an eye for detail. You are fluent both spoken and written English.
Preferably you have broad experience in these topics covering the global regulatory landscape as well as the challenges faced in interpretation and implementation.
Further, we want you to have:
Profound and recent knowledge about IKEA Food and beverage operations and customers' needs and expectations and how this area can outperform.
Understanding on process driven ways of working
Good knowledge about retail in general
Very Good Communication - verbally and written in English.
Experience from leading assignments across functions and organizations.
Project management skills (PPS )
Ability to discover business opportunities.
Ability to convince with solid knowledge and great interpersonal skills.
Interest and experience to lead others.
Ability to set clear directions, purposes and objectives.
Ability to evaluate business potential.

Additional information
