The Saftey, Health and Environment Division at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Fire Safety Engineer (FSE).
Description of Division
Presently, there are 7 persons working in the Division. The Division is responsible for the licensing process with regard to the radiation safety as well as environmental, land and property issues. The Division also constitue the expertise role within ESS in the areas; Safety (nuclear, industrial, conventional etc.), Security, Quality Assurance and Environment Management. 
Description of main responsibilities
The Fire Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing a Fire Safety Program for the ESS facility. This includes being the specialist at ESS of all fire safety issues at ESS. Specifically, the tasks for the FSE will be:

• to set up the fire safety requirements of the ESS facility
• to perform fire safety analyses 
• to review (as an expert) fire safety analyses (done by others)
• to lead and coordinate subcontractors and collaborating laboratories within the area of fire safety
• to be the contact person towards the regulatory authority concerning fire safety   

Qualifications

• Diploma or Examine in Fire Safety Engineering
• 10-15 years of working experience
• Experience from Nucelar or Radiation safety work
• Experience from industrial building projects
• Experience from project management
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English and Swedish skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

The position is permanent. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
The amount of travelling days will be 15-20 day per year.

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
