About the position
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the daily Operations & Support as well as architecture and services of the ICT and belongs to the IT department, reporting to the IT Manager.
As the majority of operations is managed by external suppliers, the Operations Manager is responsible for defining requirements for suppliers within his or her area of responsibility, this includes infrastructure such as data centres, UPS, storage, databases, communications etc. The Operations Manager will be the focal point between stakeholders within Fingerprints and their suppliers.
Fingerprints IT has a "cloud first" strategy and uses Microsoft as their primary technology supplier, but use of Linux is common in the R&D organization.
Key responsibilities includes:
• Analysis and reporting to all levels of the company
• Definition, implementation and follow-up of services within Operations & Support as well as infrastructure
• Development of the Service Desk function, implementing an ITIL mind set
Your background
We think that the ideal candidate has a technical background with knowledge of both Microsoft and Linux environments, most likely you have a Master's degree in Computer Science of similar.
Your experience and competence probably includes:
• Managing a global IT Operations organization
• Taking responsibility managing infrastructure, especially transforming from an on premise setup to cloud services and external suppliers
• Understanding financial consequences upon architectural decisions
• Cost monitoring, follow-up and optimization
• Even though the role has no direct reports, experience of managing staff is beneficial
On a personal level we think the ideal candidate is a strong communicator, networker and motivator - you have a "Yes we can"-mind set always keeping the business needs in focus. We will emphasize personal fit for the position.
As Fingerprints is a global organization, some domestic and international travel may occur. English is the required language, Swedish or other languages is a plus.
