To become successful in this role, you need to have a degree in Law, and bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in advising corporates with legal matters connected to commercial and business development with very close collaboration with Digital, Legal, Treasury and many other functions. Minimum 10 years of experience influencing management and leading successful initiatives that carry significant regulatory impact to the business, as well as in the financial and payment industry. Experience from fintech and neobanks within ecosystems is considered an advantage!
We believe that you have extensive knowledge of regulation and legislation impacting financial services and very good understanding of business development and digital development within the financial, payments and/or data privacy space. You bring extensive knowledge of the main risk factors impacting IKEA within Financial Services and of regulation changes and possible impact on Ingka model. Finally, you understand the IKEA Concept, Brand Identity and our culture and values.
As a person you are excellent in negotiation, with ability to zoom into details, but always with the bigger picture in mind. You communicate and explain complex and technical concepts in an easy way. You see business opportunities from rigorous regulations and hold a strong commercial and business mindset, with a drive to achieve goals. To accomplish this, you use your strategic and analytical skills and the power of network and strong relationships. You demonstrate honesty and transparency towards IKEA customers, retail countries and in general towards all our partners inside and outside of IKEA.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As Financial Services Regulatory & Legal Advisor you will be responsible to provide legal advice to enable the development of financial services that are complaint with legislation and regulations, as we democratize financial services for a more affordable and convenient life at home and work of the many people and companies.
You will:
• Be responsible to stay up to date and keep the organisation updated with the latest legislation and regulation impacting the financial services (e.g., banking, payments, privacy, etc)
• Facilitate understanding across the organisation of the impact of such legislation and regulation on the financial services developed for the organisation to use this knowledge in their work when planning, deploying, creating business cases, etc
• Create guidelines and tools for key functions and countries to enable them to act according to legislation and regulation when developing and deploying services, offering, negotiating with 3rd parties, etc
• Provide key functions (e.g. Innovation, Digital, Market Support, Data Privacy, countries, etc) with subject matter expertise in the development and deployment of financial services
• Lead initiatives towards securing a compliant foundation for financial services
• Provide legal advice when entering in new countries, tendering, and negotiating contracts together with key functions (e.g. Legal, Procurement, Risk & Compliance, Treasury, etc)
• Engage with Group Treasury to drive forward financial services questions and interests towards regulators and other forums of influence
• Network and create strong relationships within our financial partnerships and other 3rd parties in the regulatory arena, including peer legal experts in the financial industry, regulators, etc to maximize the full potential of knowledge sharing and nurture opportunities for co-creation
• Communicate and present at internal and external events and forums, representing and reinforcing the Ingka positioning within financial services
• Keep track of emerging trends, technologies, regulations, and industry practices to identify how these can be deployed to competitive advantage
The role is located in Malmö and you will report to New Retail Business Manager in Financial Services.
